About Dr. Oxana Litvine
I am a science educator and researcher with a lifelong commitment to teaching and mentoring students in biology and chemistry.
I earned my PhD in Neuroscience from the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and my M.Sc. in Animal and Human Physiology from Moscow State University. My academic career includes postdoctoral research in behavioral neuroscience, learning and memory, and neurobiology, as well as publications in peer-reviewed journals including Nature, Genomics, and the Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine.
Alongside my research background, I have devoted my professional life to education:
• Teaching AP Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, and Science Research at the high-school level
• Teaching General Biology and Human Biology at the college level
• Serving as an AP Biology Reader for the College Board
• Instructing advanced students through Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth
• Teaching in IB and IGCSE programs in international schools
What defines my work today is not just experience, but perspective: I understand science both as a researcher and as a teacher, and I bring that dual insight into every lesson.
